Program Cuts in the News and Social Media

We wanted to share that Peggy Sattler, official opposition for the Ministry of Colleges and Universities, was successful in getting a question into the NDP line up of questions at Question Period on Monday morning. The video is posted here https://youtu.be/dSZbeDRLcuQ

Unfortunately, Minister Dunlop blamed the federal government’s cap on international study permits and did not speak directly to the situation at Fleming.

The Union knows there are people who want to support the concerns the union has about the recent program closure announcements.

We encourage retirees, external stakeholders and students to speak honestly from their perspective on the process and impacts.

We encourage all faculty and staff at Fleming College to engage in these conversations as well, while recognizing the limitations they may have in their capacity to participate. We respect their rights as private citizens while also acknowledging their obligations as employees of the college.

We suggest all employees read the College’s Social Media Procedure and Code of Conduct Policy. Additional policies can be found on the Policies and Procedures website (https://department.flemingcollege.ca/policies-procedures/)
