May 30th Rally to Save Public Healthcare

A message from OPSEU Region 3 executive board members:

On May 30th join the Ontario Health Coalition rally to save public healthcare.

In our our Region we have already seen the closure of one hospital (Minden), threat of the closure of one of the sites at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcentre, opening of a paid plasma donor centre owned by Grifols (Whitby) and the proposed closure of 2 Public Health Lab testing centres in Orillia and Peterborough.

Amalgamations of public health unitsis still in the works and chronic underfunding of homecare continue to impact our members who deliver the services and all who require access, not to mention the disruptive consequences of private lab testing – Lifelabs making huge profits while seeking concessions from our members.

We have 2 buses travelling from Region 3 to rally with public healthcare defenders on May 30th. Please sign up with the link below. We look forward to seeing you, your colleagues, friends and family members. The buses are equipped with washrooms and we will provide snacks and beverages to make this a fun trip with amazing people who all want to see better healthcare for all!
