6. You May Be Eligible for EI (Employment Insurance)

If your teaching contract is ending or you have gaps, you might qualify for EI benefits. Important notes:

  • Use the multiplier 2.17 to convert your contract (teaching) hours to “real worked hours” when applying.

We recognize that many part-time and sessional faculty face financial stress, especially between contracts. The Regional Hardship Fund is available to provide support in times of need.
